October 2026
Dear International students and scholars,
We hope you are settling into a comfortable rhythm as campus life becomes more familiar and final papers, projects, and presentations begin to take shape.
A gentle reminder of our growing ISSS tradition: we love visiting your classes to support you during major presentations! And if there is ever a day when you feel homesick, overwhelmed, or simply don't feel like going to class alone, we will gladly walk with you to class, and stay for a few minutes! We are making time for one student each day. Just email, text, or stop by our office to let us know you need some support. No explanation needed.
We know being far from home isn't always easy. Remember, you have people here who genuinely care about you.

An elegant evening at the Pupin Gala Ball! Fifteen Gallaudet University students, including six international students, attended the celebration at the official residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the United States. Accompanied by ISSS Advisor Fatuma Kuti, the students enjoyed a memorable evening of cultural and diplomatic engagement. Pictured above, the group joins His Excellency Dragan Šutanovac, Ambassador of Serbia to the United States.

International students were joined by faculty and staff at our ISSS Gathering on October 8, 2026. These gatherings give us all a chance to step away from our busy schedules, share a meal, enjoy good conversations, play a game or two, and simply spend time together. Thank you for joining us! Join us at our next International Gathering on November 5, 2026, at JSAC 1011, 12 noon.

Winter Break Housing
As we shared during our October 8 International Gathering, please let ISSS know if you do not have a place to stay during the Dec–Jan winter break.
